May here in Ontario seemed much more summer-like then June so far. One day a couple of weeks ago, I under estimated how hot it was on my lunchtime run. I had to cut my run after 20 minutes because I was not ready for the heat and humidity. If I were to replay that day, here are the 4 running items I would bring with me to make my lunchtime run more successful.

It’s important to stay hydrated! A hydration belt such as the one featured on the left is a good idea to have because you can just reach over and grab a drink. I haven’t purchased one yet, but Julie has for her first 1/2 marathon coming up in September. I’m waiting for her review of her hydration belt for Run Mommy Run.
I get migraines and sometimes just the sun alone can trigger one. Wearing sunglasses is important. I usually buy some cheap glasses because I tend to lose them. However, I might take care of a more expensive pair. Check out the gorgeous pair of white sunglasses by Under Armour on the right!
Hat or Viser
On my lunchtime runs (RUNCH as I like to call it) I run on a track in an open field with little shade. Alternatively to wearing sunglasses, you might want to wear a hat or a sun visor to keep the sun out of your eyes. My personal preference is wearing sunglasses, however, I don’t tend to misplace hats as I do my sunglasses!
You can’t forget the sunscreen. I’m guilty often not wearing sunscreen. I have an allergy to most sunscreens. It’s really frustrating since I can’t pin point the ingredients I’m allergic to. I’m sticking to creams as opposed to sprays and that seems to help a little. I did some research and purchased Green Screen online. I just received my bottle of Kabana Green Screen. My review of Green Screen is coming up shortly!
