I started running 6 weeks after I had my son, as soon as I was cleared by my doctor. I had 20 lbs to loose so initially that motivated me. Then, I needed something else to motivate me. Enter the Obstacle Race.
I saw The Mudd Sweat & Tears Obstacle Race advertised on the internet and I thought it would be a good challenge for myself.
Break Down of The Race
Some of the obstacles in this race included 2 – 10 fee walls, a rope climb, crawling under wires, sharp muddy incline up and down the Niagara Escarpment, pulling of humongous tires, carrying cinder blocks and running through vineyards.
The weather was cold, and about half way through the race, I had to go through a large pond of icy water.
I completed the 5 km obstacle course in 53 minutes. Not a terrible time considering this is my first race in years, and all the obstacles.
Obstacle Race Photos
I was happy they had some photographers to catch all the mayhem. They provided the photos for free! Thanks Guys. Here is a quick recap of my race through pictures and a video my husband took:
Have you tried an obstacle race?
