Happy New Years everyone. I’m starting off 2018 with one word. One word that I hope will define my year: ACTION.
So, how did I come up with the word ACTION as my word for 2018? I’ll be honest, it was from one of those tests that pop up on Facebook. Regardless of where it came from, my word turned out to be a great one. Why? Because I plan on returning to ACTION in 2018.
I’ve spent what seems like most of 2017 pregnant, although it’s just been about 7 months. Unlike my first pregnancy, where I had lots of energy in the second trimester, this one has left me tired and low on energy pretty much the whole time. But I can’t blame pregnancy alone on my lack of ACTION in 2017. Even at the beginning of the year, I felt somewhat in a running/workout rut.
Now that there is only 8 weeks to go before I get to meet my precious little bundle of joy, I’m ready to look beyond. Taking a break from all that training is probably what I needed. I feel like I’m ready, and re-inspired to get back to what I love: competing and pushing myself beyond what I thought mI could do.
Instead of sharing my weekly workout plan, this week I’m sharing my overall plan for 2018, the one that will lead to ACTION.
January – February: I will enjoy my final 2 months of pregnancy
April: Once cleared by my Doctor, I will be start (slowly) running & swimming again
May – August: Train for Iron Girl Grimsby 2018, Compete in Iron Girl Triathlon Sprint
August – September: Train for & compete in my second ever half marathon
September – December: maintenance
OK, now that I have a plan for what I need to do for 2018, I have to try to figure out how to do it while caring for a little baby.
