Just a few days ago, I did an update on my 2015 Running goals. Everything is going well in that department! See my post here. Basically adding more cross training, running one race with my twin sister and participating in the Run For The Cure are all that’s left!
I wish my non-running goals were doing as well! Here is a review of these goals:
Goal 1: Spend Less
I think I’m doing fairly well with this one! I haven’t bought unnecessary clothes. I will need a few summer pieces. I still tend to buy lots of snacky foods that are unhealthy and unnecessary!
Goal 2: Live More Sustainable
Well, I’ve sourced out some sustainble makeup products and tested some. Some were real winners (Greench Deodorant Powder) and others weren’t so much (Eyes Right Mascara). This will be an ongoing goal!
Goal 3: Teach My Son French
Argh! I’m the only one to blame for not succeeding at this one! It’s laziness! I’m fully bilingual and want my son to be as well! He’s picking up language so easlily! I really need to put more effort in this!
Goal 4: Leave The iPhone Behind
Argh! Another major fail! As an I.T. tech, my iPhone is an integral part of my work life. I’ve developed a deep attachment to my iPhone. When I’m playing with my son, I do put a lot of effort to put the phone away and concentrate on my him, however, I still find that I’m checking my phone obsessively! I need to detach more from my phone when I’m at home!
Goal 5: Buy Local
Well, living in Niagara, the summer season is great for buying local! Right now, there are no season vegetables or fruit available. I’m a strong believer in buying local wines however! And we have a great source for local jams (Have you tried Greaves?). I admit, I can do better with this goal as I live in an area with lots of resources! I think I need to find a local source for meat, and eggs as well!
Goal 6: Paint More!
Another total Fail. I have produced 1 painting so far this year. A small piece that was made for a friend’s daughter. I love painting! I was doing very well when I was taking classes, but since my son is born, I find I have less time to devote to painting. I might have to find a balance between blogging and painting to make this one work!
Did you set goals for 2015 back in January? How are you doing with your goals?
