A high visibility vest
Night runners should know the importance of a high visibility vest. Since they are cheap to buy there is no reason to skip this purchase. You need to make sure you stay safe and that drivers can see you in time. There are too many accidents involving runners each year. Make sure you buy a good high visibility vests and you can even purchase a strong light to see the possible dangers ahead of you. If you have extra pockets it’s always a good idea to carry some extra batteries.
Generally speaking you can just start running with no gear at all. This is the why humans have been doing it for thousands of years. However, things have changed. Many studies show the importance of proper hydration while running and this is why you need the gear to support this. There are also many more dangers on the road, especially for night runners and the increasing traffic in urban locations. Make sure you stay as safe as possible with reflective clothing and a light.
If you are passionate about running and you plan to do it for a longer period of time you should know you can improve things like blood flow or muscle soreness with compression clothing. The right gear won’t make you instantly better, but it can provide the stepping stone to pushing your own limits and always improving, which is what you want in the end.
