There was a sea of pink today at the CIBC Run for the Cure 5Km Run/Walk! It was an ideal day for a 5 km run! The weather was on the cool, only 7 to 13 degrees Celsius, but the sun was out!
I wrote a post in August about the CIBC Run for the Cure, since I was raising funds for the worthy cause. Today, I ran the 5 Km as part of a work team “the NOTLERS”. As a team, we raised $1845 that will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. A couple of weeks ago, I also wrote a post about the cupcakes I made for our successful fundraising bake sale.
Before The Race
Here I am before the race, modeling out team T-Shirts that said “The NOTLERS” in the back, along with the event sponsors. I have to admit that when I first arrived at the location, it was freezing and I was seriously rethinking my choice of wearing shorts today.
I’m embarrassed to tell you what I ate the day before the race because I made some pretty terrible choices, like Taco Bell for lunch and a Pizza with a can of Coco-Cola for dinner…ouch!. That is NOT typical of what I eat. However, I had a great healthy breakfast of fruit and oatmeal with my one cup of coffee this morning! I’m am glad that my poor food choices of yesterday did not negatively affect my results today!
Pink is the theme of this event. I saw people with pink tutus, pink wings, pink boas, pink wigs; you name it, if it was pink, people were wearing it! I sported some funky pink socks that I purchased specifically for this event. Don’t mind the goose bumps on my legs, it was really cold.
