On the blog today, I’m providing a review of my Free Your Mind Singlet from Climawear. This is the first of 5 pieces I will be reviewing from Climawear.
A few weeks back, I announced that I had won a $250 giveaway prize from Climawear, a company that makes high quality, affordable seamless activewear that is very fashionable too. I’ve looked at their stuff for a long time and was thrilled with my prize. You can have the sneak peek of all 5 pieces in my Fall Running Look post but today, I’m reviewing the Free You Mind Singlet.
This singlet is made of 100 % nylon. It’s long and slim fit but doesn’t offer much for coverage or any bra support. It’s made to be worn over a sports bra or a tank. This piece is designed in Canada but made in China. I chose the Medium size singlet.
The Features I love:
The Free Your Mind singlet is cute and fashionable. I love that it allows you to show case some fun colours of your underlying sports bra or tank. The singlet is light and comfortable and I love that it’s a piece you can layer. It also looks nice if you throw a jacket on top since you can still see the singlet peek a few inches below!
I love the length of this singlet. I’m way passed those years where I want to show off my navel. In fact I love the trend of longer shirts. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that crop tops are making a comeback (please no!)
I love the opaqueness of the material. Even though it’s white, the Free Your Mind singlet is opaque enough that it’s not too see-through. I find too many white pieces these days are way too see-through.
What’s not to love?
Looking at the photo above, you can tell it’s not quite the right size for me. It’s snug at the hips, and quite loose at the chest. It’s not really made for someone who is pear-shaped like me. I’d love to try the size “small” to see if it would be too snug along the hips. That was my fault since I did order it in size Medium. I ordered Medium because their website says that their clothes fits snugly.
I did put this shirt to the running test a few times. I didn’t like was that this singlet rides up my hip to my waist while running and I have to pull it down every so often.
Despite that it’s not the perfect size for me, I love this fashion piece for running. The Free Your Mind Singlet is unique and comfortable. Next time I order from Climawear, I’m going to make sure I consult their sizing experts to make sure I get the right size for me. There will be a next time because I feel Climawear is high quality and affordable at the same time as being fashion forward!
When it comes to washing technical fabrics you should really pay attention to washing instructions to get the most from your gear. Climawear is no different. It requires cold water wash, no bleach and air drying. That’s how I wash most of technical clothing anyhow.
