Health has been at he forefront of my mind lately. There have been so many people that surround me lately that have suffered with health issues, some of them life threatening. It has been especially concerning because some of these people are around my age or my husband’s age. It made us reflect on what is important to us and how short life can be. This weekend, my husband and I decided to be grateful of our health. We don’t want to take it for granted. We should live in the moment a little more, shouldn’t we?
We decided that family time was more important than anything else this weekend. We scraped our usual weekend plan of house cleaning/yard work. We dedicated this weekend to our little family. On Saturday, we went to see my nephew play hockey then we had a nice lunch out just the three of us afterwards. On Sunday, my husband and I took turns working out, he lifted weights, and then I went for a run. Why? Because we are lucky enough that our health permits us to! And then we took our son swimming for more family fun.
Later on Sunday, while our little guy napped, I helped my husband fulfill a long time goal. I helped him set up his very own WordPress blog. I’m very excited for him. I’ll be featuring his blog on here as soon as he has a few blog posts to publish. My husband is passionate about sports, and his blog will be about Canada’s favorite game: hockey!
I wasn’t very active this week. I started to see a physio therapist last week. I’ve discovered that I have a weak core (I was surprised about this), a week left hip (not so surprised about this) and that my muscles were extremely tight (also not a surprise). Let’s see what I did last week, and what I plan to do this week on MotivateMe Monday.

Here is what I did last week:
Monday: 1 hour endurance swim
Tuesday: Physio Therapy, PT exercises and lots of foam rolling
Wednesday: PT exercises and foam rolling
Thursday: PT exercises and foam rolling
Saturday or Sunday: 5 km run with more PT exercises and foam rolling
This week, I’m hoping to accomplish:
Monday: 1 hour endurance swim
Tuesday: 30 min strength training for swimmers
Wednesday: Physio Therapy
Thursday: 30 min spinning
Saturday or Sunday: 5 or 6 km run
