Urgh! Runners feet can be down right ugly. Today’s post is a DIY post about how to take care of your runners feet.
The longer the distance I run, the rougher my feet get! My twin sister Julie, who is training for her first 1/2 Marathon in September, has feet that are looking pretty gnarly; she’s also losing some of her toenails! Oh No! I can’t offer tips on losing toenails however I can help solve the issue of rough feet with my DIY Lavender Foot Scrub.
Another of my sisters gave me this foot scrub recipe (I have 5 sisters). This foot scrub works great and it’s simple to make, with ingredients you probably already have at home.
I love this scrub so much, I just had to share it. I picked lavender essential oil. It is by far my favorite scent and because I was able to source a lavender oil locally.Take care of your runner's feet with this Scrumptious DIY Lavender Foot Scrub Click To Tweet
Foot Scrub Recipe
- 1 cup of sugar
- ½ cup of Organic Coconut Oil (at room temperature)
- 10 to 15 drops of you favorite essential oil
- Combine all 3 ingredients in a bowl with a fork to break down any of the coconut oil until well blended. Massage a table-spoon of the food scrub over your wet or dry feet for a 1 minute. Rinse and enjoy the smooth feeling.
After a grueling run, treat yourself to an at-home pedicure. Soak your feet in a hot bath. Massage the foot scrub on your feet and calves. After you dry your feet, remove old nail polish and oil from your toes with nail polish remover. Paint your nails in a bright bold summer color. Once your nails are dry, rub a nice body butter all over your feet and legs.
Enjoy and Relax!
