Although Lacrosse has been a game in existence for centuries, it’s really gaining momentum here in Ontario. My nephews are totally obsessed with the sport. In fact, my nephew Sebastien is so passionate about Lacrosse that he shares his knowledge and love of the sport on his own YouTube Channel called We The North Lacrosse.
I have to admit that I’ve been inspired by my nephew to create more vlogs for Run Mommy Run. While at a family pool party, the boys took out their equipment and all the kids and some grown-ups were playing Lacrosse in the back yard. I took this opportunity to interview my nephew and get him to teach me the basics of Lacrosse. Let me tell you, there are a lot of skills involved, it’s not an easy sport. I have to admit that this sport quickly grew on me, not as a player though, but as a spectator!
Here is a little video demonstration of the basics you need to know about Lacrosse. In this video, Sebastien teaches me how to throw and catch the ball using the stick, why you need to cradle the ball and how to do it, and he also touches on the physical aspect of the game. I obviously need A LOT of practice, but I had lots of fun learning about this sport. Checkout the video, you might chuckle at my inability to play the sport.
