Fall is definitely my favorite season, but following closely behind is spring! I love the return of cooler weather. This means comfy sweaters, tall boots and the still fashionable scarves! And if the beautiful cavalcade of colours from the maples, ashes and oaks trees aren’t enough, my birthday is also in the fall! Autumn seems like a time of preparation (for winter, my least favorite season for obvious reasons). So, as I am getting ready for the colder months ahead, here is my Fall Bucket List.
1. Update my fall/winter running wardrobe
When it comes to appropriate clothing for running in the winter, my wardrobe is very limited. Since I have taken running more seriously this year, I will need to buy a few items. I will need some compression leggings and a zip up running jacket to keep warm in the freezing weather. For the runners out there, anything ideas/suggestions on what else I will need to keep me comfortable in the colder months?
2. Buy new running shoes
From what I have been reading, they suggest changing shoes every 500 or so kilometers. I believe mine are close to their limit. In order to prevent injury this winter, I think I will invest in a new pair of runners. Humm, I smell a shopping spree in the air!
3. Attend the Niagara Wine Festival
The Niagara Wine Festival is another reason with I love the Fall. Who doesn’t like to celebrate wine especially when you live in Wine Country! Every year, the festival has a great line up of musical acts with abundant food from local restaurants and of course, wine from the Niagara Region! Next week’s run, the Run For The Grapes, ties in with this event! Ahh! so much to look forward to!
4. Stop and smell the leaves
And finally, I want to schedule some time to stop and smell the leaves! I love the smell that is in the air this time of year! I love to hear the crunchy fallen leaves under my feet as I walk my dog! I love to feel snugly in my warm clothes while I’m surrounded with fresh air! Summer is always a busy season, I just want to relax this fall and enjoy this lull before the busy Christmas season!
Who else loves the fall as much as I do? What’s on your bucket list?
