As my #MotivateMe Link Up partner Janice from Salad 4 Lunch has found her Running Mojo again I’m feeling quite the opposite. So, I’ve decided to give running a back seat for a while and I’m changing things up with a new training plan from Nike Training Club
Nike Training Club App
If you are unfamiliar with the Nike Training Club (or NTC for short), it’s a smart phone app from Nike that provides you with a variety of workouts, FOR FREE!. I really love this app and It’s not the first time I’ve talked about it on the blog. It has a variety of workouts for beginner, moderate or advanced levels. You can do high intensity cardio or workouts that will help you build muscle.
Another reason I love Nike Training Club workouts is because you don’t need a lot of equipment. Some require dumbbells, or a medicine ball, however, don’t need a whole gym to complete the workouts and they are easily done at home.
They also have videos demonstrating the moves for you as well as voice-over talking you through the moves.
I’ve trained for my races so long, I haven’t used NTC app in a while. It has recently undergone an update. You can now build a training plan a few quick steps. And I’m totally trying it out.
Training Plan Set Up
I picked the Lean & Fit Plan since I am looking at trying to get leaner. It’s a 6 week plan and I was able to incorporate some running into the plan. The cool thing about this plan is that it’s customized to you. You simply answer a few questions, as seen below, and the plan creates itself.
Voila, hit “Build My Plan” and it’s as simple as that. I set how many workouts a week I want, if I wanted to include some running (yes please) and how much equipment I have. My 6 Week training plan is scheduled and I share this week’s plan with you below as well as my meal plan for the week!
