My Next Race
Last year, I ran my first ever 10 Km race at the Grimsby Half Marathon and Family Day 10 Km & 3 Km Race. I haven’t signed up yet this year, but I’m feeling up to it. On Monday, February 15th, I’ll make my way to Grimsby, nice and early to run the 10 Km race. Even though it was freezing cold last year, there was a large turnout for this race. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this year and it won’t be in the -20’s.
The last race I ran was back in September, when I raced my two sisters in the Run for the Grapes 5 km. It seems like such a long time since I’ve raced that I’m getting itchy again.
I’ve been feeling the winter blahs and I think a race is just the right cure. Races tend to ignite my passion for running. A little competition will get my blood flowing again!
I went for a 10 km test run today to see if I was fit enough for competition, and I believe that I am. In training today, I ran it in 59:29. Here’s too next Monday’s race & to Family Day!

Hey Carla, good luck on your half marathon. Completing one of those are on my books this year.
My next race will be the 1/2 marathon at Sudbury rocks on Mother’s Day…. Trainig starts on Feb 15. It will be my 2nd 1/2. My only goal is to beat my first 1/2 time…

Perhaps you can join me for the Women’s half in NIAGARA Falls in June?
Congrats on being part of the link up and deciding on your next 10km. Sounds like you’re definitely in racing shape
Thanks Jenn. The weather will will help me decide if I’m really running or not.
I haven’t made any fitness goals for this year….not sure why but I just couldn’t come up with any.
Good luck Cassi on what ever you take on this year.
I always feel that if I have a race on the schedule it helps to motivate me to get out and tackle my training. I currently have three races on the schedule for this year and will be adding more.

I’m 31 weeks pregnant so no races on the horizon for now. I went to our local running store last night though and it definitely gave me running fever for next summer and fall. I’d like to run a couple 5Ks during the summer and one half or 10K in the fall (just depending on how life is going with the new baby then!) Signing up for races definitely is motivating for me! K
Congrats, on your expected arrival.! I started running 6 weeks after my little guy. Enjoy your little one!
