On Saturday my son and I joined my husbands and his co-workers in the Rankin Cancer Run. This charity 5 km run is quite fantastic. It’s run by unpaid committee members and volunteers. This year marks their 10 year Anniversary. So far, they have raised an impressive $4.65 Million for the Niagara Region. I love that the money raised stays to help those within our Region with cancer.
This was the third time I participated in this run with my husband. This year, we made it a real family affair when we brought our dog Charlie along for the fun. We didn’t actually run the 5 km run since we had Brendyn and Charlie in tow,we walked it instead. I’m so used to running that distance that walking it seemed to take an eternity.
They picked such a lovely location for the run. We run along the recreational train along the Welland Canal. I have covered a series on Great Places To Run in Niagara, I should definitely add this recreational trail to this series since I used to run and Rollerblade it frequently.
