Last week, I took a week to rest after my 10 Km race. I needed it! Not because my body was sore, (it wasn’t) but because I was still recovering for a sinus infection. I woke up somewhere between Saturday night and Sunday morning (just a day before my big race) with my left side of my face throbbing, leading to a terrible headache. I popped a Tylenol and iced my face since I didn’t know what else to do, and returned to sleep.
Into my third week of with this infection, I finally went to the doctor, who prescribed some antibiotics. I’m not a fan, but I was tired of having headaches, even my teeth hurt because of the pressure. I was also so tired that I was going to bed at 7:00 or 8:00 p.m.
Fast forward to several days later and I was feeling fine. On Tuesday, this week, I made it back to the gym! I had a great time doing a workout that involved no running.
|Sporting my new leggings!|
Tuesday’s workout was a short circuit that I created myself (FYI I’m not an expert). My circuit involved:
- 10 Kettle Bell Swings with 10 lb bell
- 10 Lunges with Kettle Bells on the right with 5 lb bell
- 10 Lunges with Kettle bells on the left with 5 lb bell
- 10 Toe Touches with a 8 lbs Medicine Ball
- 10 Russian Twists with 8 lbs Medicine Ball
- 10 Squat & Press with 5 lbs weights in each hand
I repeated this circuit until my 30 minutes were up! I was sore the next day!
Thursday morning, I woke up with another cold! Argh! My throat is itchy and scratchy and I’m coughing! Oh the joys of having a toddler in Day Care. They catch everything going around and bring it home! So, I’m back to resting and recovering. I’m going to take a few days off from working out. I think my body needs to rest some more. I will drink lots of fluids and cuddle up with some reading instead!
I hope you are all doing well! Stay healthy! Spring is only a few short weeks away!
