On the blog today, I’m providing a review of my Raise The Bar leggings from Climawear. This is the second of 5 pieces I will be reviewing from Climawear.
A few weeks back, I announced that I had won a $250 giveaway prize from Climawear, a company that makes high quality, affordable seamless activewear that is very fashionable too. I’ve stalked their website for a long time and was thrilled to win this prize. You can have the sneak peek of all 5 pieces I received in my Fall Running Look post but today, I’m reviewing the Raise The Bar Leggings. In case you missed it, read my review on the Free Your Mind Singlet.
Raise The Bar Leggings: The Basics
The Raise The Bar Leggings are high-waisted leggings with medium tummy control (yay) when worn up, or low-waisted with the waist rolled down (see image above). The waistband is designed to eliminate muffin top (yes). Raise The Bar leggings are made of 65% Nylon, 23% Poly, 12% Spandex, have 4-way stretch to prevent chaffing, and are quick drying.
The Raise The Bar leggings come in 3 different colours, Litho/Aruba (mine), Litho/Black and Rosa/Burgundy.
When it came to sizing the leggings according to their sizing chart, I fell somewhere between small and medium. I decided on sizing up to Medium (and it was a good choice on my part) since the Climawear sizing chart mentions that:
Seamless garments are slim fitting and are designed to mimic a ‘second skin” feel. For a loose feel, size up.
I love love love my new Climawear leggings. They are COMFORTABLE and they are cute. I always look forward to laundry day so that they come back into rotation again.
One of the best things about these leggings besides being comfortable and seamless, is that they really do help to reduce the dreaded muffin top. They are light-weight and fast-drying. I’ve tested them out on runs and they don’t chafe.
They are great for fall weather, however, they are thin and won’t be suitable for really cold weather unless I use them as a base layer.
The Raise The Bar leggings are opaque. I won’t have to worry about them being see through. I also won’t have to worry about sweat spots as the material doesn’t change colour when I sweat. I like the fact that you can wear them high-waisted or folded over. I prefer folded over in the comfort of my home, however, when running, I like wearing them high.
What’s not to love?
The only negative thing to say about these leggings is that they don’t have any fancy pockets or secret zippers to put stuff in when you are running.
The price for me doesn’t fit in either the good or the bad category. They wouldn’t make my list of inexpensive sportswear source. However, in my opinion, investing a bit more money for high quality durable product like the Raise the Bar leggings from Climawear is justifiable at $52 USD. There are many well-known brands out there that are double the price.
When it comes to washing technical fabrics you should really pay attention to washing instructions to get the most from your gear. Climawear is no different. It requires cold water wash, no bleach and air dry or tumble dry on low heat. That’s how I wash most of technical clothing anyhow. I’m very happy with my Raise The Bar leggings. Climawear definitely have a new fan and I will definitely buy from them in the future.
