I picked my 2018 Goal race while I was about 6 months pregnant. Now I have a 3 month old baby and I’m about 14 weeks away from my comeback to competition. Here is Road to Iron Girl Chronicle Week 3.
Last week, I set my “To Do” list, but I haven’t scratched one item off my list. TSK TSK Lucie! I’m promising myself, right now, that I WILL start tackling it this week!
Here Is My To Do list:
- Get bike tuned and tires pumped
- Remove race number from bike (last time I used it was for Iron Girl 2016) Oops!
- Modify training plan to fit my schedule (I’m using Athleta’s plan)
- Dig out my Tri Kit (make sure it fits) and my cycling jersey
- See my Chiropractor for my tight left leg
I’ve been reading over some of my old blog posts about my 2016 triathlon training since it’s been 2 years already since I’ve participated in a triathlon. I need to refresh my brain on all the things I learned the first time around.
I’m linking one of my most useful post, The Best 6 Triathlon Hacks For Newbies. If you’re new to sport, you’ll want to learn these tricks that I learned during some Tri Clinics I took. After reviewing my post, I realize I forgot some of these tricks, and I’m so happy to have them recorder here on Run Mommy Run. Just a warning: there are some pretty crazy tricks in there.
One of the reasons I blog is because I love capturing my best race memories in race recaps posts. They are so fun to read years later. Just reading about my Subaru Try-A-Tri and Iron Girl 2016 race recaps gets me excited for 2018 Tri season.
I also documented my training for Iron Girl 2016 in a series of posts called Trials and Tribulation of Triathlon Twins. Again, it’s fun for me to re-read my old posts. My twin sister and I had no idea what we had signed ourselves up for. If you are thinking of doing a triathlon but are not sure, you might want to read them. I remember thinking that it would be impossible to do a triathlon since I didn’t know how to swim! Here’s what happened. I got in a pool, took some lessons, practiced, practiced practiced and guess what! I did it! If you are looking for some inspiration, you’ll find it on the series of posts. Guaranteed!
Ok, that concludes Road to Iron Girl Chronicle Week 3. Come back next week as I countdown to 13 weeks to Iron Girl Grimsby 2018.
