Wow, I am a busy mom lately! I’m finding time to run, and lift weights, but I’m low on time to blog! My baby is sleeping so, here I go!I’ve been following the running schedule from Micoach, an iPhone app, which is designed to help me run a faster 5 Km. After a couple of weeks of this training, I can say I have shaved 5 whole minutes off my 5 Km. That’s truly amazing. That’s 1 minute off each kilometer. When I started running at 6 weeks postpartum, I was running at 7 min/km. I slowly inched down to 6.5 min/km, then 6 min/km. Today, I ran it entirely under 6 min/Km… with a total run time of 28 min:45 sec.
Here were my splits:
Km 1: 5:54
Km 2: 5:44
Km 3: 5:50
Km 4: 5:46
Km 5: 5:26
I am definitely feeling like an athlete again! I’m hoping to bring down my time to average 5 min/Km by September… can I do it? I’ll find out in 2 months!
