How to run faster, farther, and injury-free for life? I don’t know yet, but I’m hoping that the book The Running Revolution: Creator of the Post Method that I am currently reading will help answer that question.
I usually read fiction novels, so I surprised myself when I visited the book store the other day and came out with two new non-fiction books about Running. Humm, does that mean I’m a runner now? I picked The Running Revolution simply because I’m attracted to the thought that I could possible run faster, longer and remain injury free. I think that’s what most runners want? Did a well crafted tagline part me of my money or will this book deliver?
The author, Dr. Nicholas Romanov studied how the body is designed for running. According to Romanov this revolutionary because before the belief was that running is second nature and that it could not be taught. This books sets out to teach the Pose Method, the method studied by the author, in 10 lessons (1 lesson /week). The book also goes through choosing the right shoe, proper warm-up exercises and includes a training plan for 5 Km, 10 Km, 1/2 Marathon and full Marathon.
After my Faster 5 km race on April 4th, I will be doing a series of posts based on my experience with the 10 lessons. Follow along and see how/if my form changes and if it helps me run faster longer and injury free!
