June is a busy month in the Palka Family! With birthdays, father’s day, races, we will just have to take life day by day to get through it all!
Color Run #Happiest5km
The Color Run is coming to Niagara Falls on June 21. It’s the happiest 5 km on the planet and I’ll be running it as a race Ambassador!
According to the Color Run Website… “In 2015, Color Runners around the world will experience the all-new Shine Tour which introduces a whole new element of glittery race attractions.”
I don’t have the full details yet, but what I can tell you is this, I created a team called “Run or Dye Trying”. If anyone is interested in joining my team, please email me to find out the details. Also, if you are interested in running the race, you can get $5 off using my promo code NIAGARA1 at checkout!
My husband and I celebrated our third year wedding anniversary this weekend since June 9th falls on a Tuesday this year. We had a great dinner at Pillar & Post. It’s where we’ve celebrated the other two anniversaries as well. The Pillar and Post is one of our favorite spots in the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Happy Birthday Brendyn
It’s hard to believe that this little cutie (aka my son Brendyn) will be turning 2 in June! I’ll be busy this week preparing for his birthday party! He’s transitioning from baby to little boy and I’m really enjoying this stage. I can already tell that we’ll be having a great summer.
Congratulations Julie and a new P.R
Julie ran a 10 Km race today in Sudbury’s Canadian Women’s Running Series. She rocked this race with a brand new Personal Record (PR). She shattered her old PR of 62 min (2014) and replaced with with 56 min (2015). Way to raise the bar Julie! Now I have to try to beat that in 3 weeks when I run my second 10 km race!
3 More weeks to the Peachbud 10 Km race
Which brings me to my next 10 km race on June 30th. It’s only 3 weeks away and my training is going well so far. I feel like I’m in great shape for this race. Bumping up my running days from 3 times a week to 4 times has greatly improved my stamina and my speed!
Motivate Me MondayLink up with @fitcheerldr & @RunningRachel for #MotivateMe Monday if you need some motivation! Click To Tweet
As usual, I’m linking up with The Fitness Cheerleader and Running Rachel for #MotivateMe Monday because we all need some motivation to keep going! It might be hard to get all my workouts in because I’m doing some training at work and won’t be able to take advantage of my usual lunch hour run! Here is my training plan for this week
- Tuesday – 30 min intervals
- Wednesday – weight training
- Friday – 30 min easy run
- Saturday/Sunday – 1o km run
So, there you have it! A busy month ahead for me! How about you, is June a busy month for you?
P.S. If you have time, please go vote for me to become a Salming Ambassador https://salmingrunning.wishpond.com/instagram-hashtag-contest-2/entries/36325814
