On December 31 of 2014, I established my Running Goals for 2015. Here is a quick recap of those goals:
Run a 10 Km Race
Run a 5 Km Race
Improve my 5km Race Pace
Do More Cross Training
Workout at Lunch
Run again in the Run For The Cure
Do at least 1 run with my twin sister Julie.
I’ve already crossed out 2 of of my goals this year so far. I finished my very first 10 Km Race (recap here) and I already started training during my lunch hour twice a week. Now it’s time to create a plan to scratch off a few more goals from my list.
I took a couple of weeks off training after my 10 Km race to recover from the race and from 2 back to back colds. Now I’m ready to jump in again and create a plan to run a 5 Km and to improve my 5 Km race pace. I’m going to try to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
I found a great 5 Km race on Saturday April 4th. The race organizers are the same as for the 10 Km race I ran on February 16th and the Run for the Grapes in September last year. I like these races so far. They seem very well-organized. The race organizers boast that the 5Km race will be “Scenic, flat and, very fast. Great place to set your P.B.” Woo Hoo, I’m looking forward to this race. It’s about 4 weeks away. I better start training for is ASAP!
How are you doing with your goals so far?
