I know, I write a blog about running and I’m talking about baking cupcakes? What do cupcakes have to do with running? Well I will explain! I have interests beyond running. I am a creative person and baking is one of my creative outlets. However, I can actually tie in these cupcakes with running (I am creative)!
So, I mentioned in a previous post that I will be running in the CIBC Run for the Cure as part of a team from work. In order to raise funds for our team, we decided to do a Charity Bake Sale. I made vanilla cupcakes (pictured on the right) with pink icing to symbolize the pink ribbon for breast cancer. I have to say, my cupcakes turned out excellent. I know because I made a dozen for my husband and I and they were gone in 2 days. Yikes!
Since I was so happy with the results, I wanted to share with you the recipe. I found it online, by another blogger. Her site is Life, Love and Sugar. Here is a link to the Cupcake Recipe I used. She has gorgeous photos on her site that will inspire you bake beautiful cakes and cupcakes. I am looking forward to trying more of her recipes.

Our bake sale ended up being a great success. The money we raise will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation through the CIBC Run for the Cure. I am very happy to be part of this team! The 5 Km charity race (CIBC Run For The Cure) is happening on October 5th.
I file this post under “Fuel for running” however, I wouldn’t recommend eating cupcakes before a race! Enjoy!
